Garlic Butter Miso Basil Prawns

Garlic Butter Miso Basil Prawns

(Serves 2)

¼ cup unsalted butter (½ stick)

1 pound of prawns or shrimp, peeled and deveined

Ground black pepper

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon miso paste

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped

Cook the Prawns

Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and set aside. In a large heavy bottomed skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. When the butter has melted, add the shrimp and a few pinches of ground black pepper. Cook the shrimp for 20-30 seconds on each side (depending on size).

Make the Sauce

Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 20 seconds, being careful not to burn the garlic. Quickly add the soy sauce, miso paste, and honey and gently toss the shrimp to coat. Turn the heat off, stir in the chopped basil, and serve immediately.
